Baton Rouge Police Deploy AI Gun Detection to Enhance Public Safety

Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Apr 24, 2024

Project Overview

In April 2024, BRPD implemented ZeroEyes’ AI technology across its network of over 200 crime cameras and 200 license plate readers. The system utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze live video feeds for the presence of firearms. Upon detecting a visible gun, the software alerts the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), staffed 24/7 by trained military and law enforcement veterans. If the threat is validated, actionable intelligence—including visual descriptions, firearm type, and last known location—is dispatched to local law enforcement within 3 to 5 seconds, enabling rapid and informed responses to potential threats.

Key Features

• Real-Time Gun Detection: Employs AI to identify visible firearms in live video streams, providing immediate alerts to potential threats. • Rapid Alert System: Delivers verified threat information to law enforcement within seconds, facilitating swift action. • 24/7 Monitoring: The ZOC operates continuously, ensuring constant vigilance and readiness to respond. • Integration with Existing Infrastructure: Seamlessly overlays onto current camera systems, enhancing capabilities without the need for additional hardware.
